Acharya Mahadevanji


Acharya Mahadevanji, earlier known as Dr. P. Mahadev is a retiree since 2004, from the Aerospace Industry with a degree in Physics who was magically whisked into Chinmaya Mission in 1978 by the compassionate Master Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayanandaji. With Pujya Gurudev’s blessings, he started Balavihar and Youth classes for children in 1982 in Southern California, which presently has more than 1250 children.

In addition to Balavihar and Youth classes, which he taught for over 30 years, he is also a music and Bhajan teacher and started the Shruti Music Choir of Kasi and Mithila, exclusively for children. He has been giving talks for youth and adults at Mithila and Kasi Centers and in universities, schools and colleges in and around Southern California. Acharya Mahadevanji has given talks on the Bhagavad Gita to the adults and also conducted other Vedanta talks on Bhaja Govindam, Atma Bodha, Sri Rama Gita, Upadesha Sara and Yoga Vasishtha.

Acharya Mahadevanji is also the Secretary of Chinmaya Mission in Southern California. In the summer of 2008 he was blessed by Pujya Guruji to serve as an Acharya for Chinmaya Mission Rameshwaram where he conducts regular Vedanta classes.

Acharya Mahadevanji oversees the Bal Vihar classes at the Hindu Temple of AV and is a regular speaker at the Temple.
